For Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, we focused on 3 key areas

Healthcare

Clinton has pledged to defend and expand the Affordable Care Act while raging against pharmaceutical companies she views as price manipulators. She has been known to say it was “Hillarycare” before it was “Obamacare”. Clinton will be determined to make the program a success, providing 100% matched funding to States that accept the program. The continued dispersion of Medicare Advantage will likewise be positive for certain managed care companies. During the presidential campaign, Clinton has raged against pharmaceutical companies she felt were price-gouging, and will likely crack down on prescription drug prices.

Renewable Energy

Under a Clinton presidency, renewable energy will become a top priority. “We need to use every tool we have to combat climate change and accelerate the transition to a clean energy future.” Clinton has already outlined lofty clean energy goals to make the United States a “renewable energy superpower.” A few of Clinton’s aspirational goals will be to increase solar energy by 700% by the end of her first term and to generate enough electricity from renewable sources to power every American home within ten years of taking office. At the same time, she says she will create a $60 billion Clean Energy Challenge program to incentivize government to lead the way in clean energy.

Defense Sector

Clinton will without a doubt be one of the most hawkish presidents of all time. She has promised to “keep America safe and secure by defending our core values and leading with principle.” Not only has she vowed to crush ISIS, stand up to Russian President Vladimir Putin and protect Asian allies over territorial disputes in the South China Sea; she also has a long track record of backing the tough talk with intervention, both as New York senator and as Secretary of State. With a president Hillary in the Oval Office, the defense complex will likely be fully primed.

For Republican nominee Donald Trump, we focused on 3 key areas

Immigration

Perhaps no other issue has garnered as much domestic press coverage as Trump’s views on immigration. In fact, even the slightest shift in his hardline stance has generated significant political backlash, making it mandatory for a future President Trump to deliver on his promises. “We’re going to build the wall, and we’re going to stop it. It’s going to end,” Trump said at a campaign rally in March, referring to illegal immigration. Trump will most likely focus efforts on screening, enforcement and, of course, building a $15bn wall along the Mexican border.

International Trade

If President Trump gets his way, the days of America “getting ripped off” due to “disastrous” trade deals are over. Trump is advocating a repudiation of globalization that would make Brexit look like a minor disagreement. Trump says he would change America’s “failed trade policy” by renegotiating or rejecting trade deals. He has labeled China a currency manipulator and threatened to tear up the NAFTA and TPP free trade agreements and slap Mexico and China with a 45% tariff on imports.

Energy policy

Speaking in North Dakota, at the heart of the American energy revival, Trump announced his “America first” energy strategy, stating that “American energy dominance will be declared a strategic economic and foreign policy goal of the United States.” Trump has enthusiastically pledged his support for the US fossil fuels and nuclear industries (pledging to eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency) and said he is going to “save the coal industry.”
